Met Éireann is forecasting heavy rain in some parts of the country on Saturday night, as tropical storm Ernesto tracks towards Ireland.

Temperatures will remain high with humid conditions, and temperatures will get up to 25 degrees in parts.

Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather says the conditions will be quite mixed depending on what part of the country you’re in:

“The good news it’s going to bring warmer weather – so it’s going to bring a good increase in temperatures – some the areas in the east and the south east will actually hit 25, maybe 26 degrees tomorrow.”

“But it will bring some rain overnight to Saturday night and an increase in wind – it’s not going to be anything significant in terms of winds speed the southwest might see gust of 70-80km an hour.”
