Boston will release its first new studio album in 11 years in December, called Life, Love & Hope, according to Musictap.com.

The Italian based Frontiers Records – known for its recent work with YesJourneyJeff LynneStyx, and Toto – will release the set, which marks the band’s first album since 2002’s Corporate America, and the first since frontman Brad Delp‘s 2007 suicide at age 55.

Although Boston has employed additional lead vocalists over the years, Life, Love & Hope will be the first Boston album to feature no participation from Delp.

Boston’s leader, guitarist, and producer Tom Scholz has always been known to put the music first, believing that it’s quality, not quantity, that makes a career: “I’ve never really cared that much about what so-called ‘commercial success’ means. I mean, that’s what gets headlines and makes people talk, and it’s nice, but it’s not what really matters to me. If the next album that I do is really lame in my estimation and it sells 20 million copies, I’m gonna consider it a complete failure.”

And any excuse to have a listen to this piece of genius!
