James Bond looks set for a major return to the big screen, and the next chapter of the legendary franchise could be accompanied by the unmistakable sound of Oasis.

Following the huge success of their 2025 reunion tour, the iconic Britpop band are reportedly emerging as strong contenders to create the theme song for the next Bond film. According to reports, Amazon MGM Studios, now owners of the 007 franchise, are keen on securing a distinctly British act for Bond 26, with Oasis said to be high on their wish list.

Noel Gallagher has openly expressed his interest in contributing to the franchise. Speaking recently on talkSPORT Drive, he reacted enthusiastically when asked whether he would take on the challenge if long-time Bond producer Barbara Broccoli reached out. Gallagher joked that he would happily agree, before making it clear that writing a Bond theme would be a huge honour. He also suggested that the job should stay firmly in British hands, rather than going to the 'Yanks'.

This isn’t the first time Gallagher has mentioned Bond. In a past interview with NME, he revealed that he had already written a couple of songs with Bond in mind, though he admitted their titles might not sound especially “007”. With production on the next film approaching, however, the timing may finally be right for Oasis to step into the world of espionage.

Gallagher even hinted at ambitions beyond music, playfully suggesting he would be more than willing to appear on screen. He joked about portraying a “Mancunian villain,” adding to the speculation that the band, or at least its most famous members, could make cameo appearances in the film.

The Bond franchise itself is currently in a period of transition. Daniel Craig bowed out of the role after 2021’s No Time to Die, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the announcement of the next actor to wear the tuxedo. Among the names circulating are Callum Turner, who has earned recognition at the British Academy Television Awards, alongside long-time fan favourites Henry Cavill and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

With no official decisions yet made about the film’s lead actor or its soundtrack, excitement continues to build. If Oasis do end up providing the theme song, it would mark a powerful fusion of two British cultural giants, and potentially one of the most memorable Bond eras yet.

I suppose we will have to "roll with it" and let them take their time!...
