Conor McGregor has detailed how he had an ‘intense need’ to wed his now-wife Dee Devlin, five years after the couple got engaged.

The Dublin couple wed at the Holy Church of Santa Stefano degli Abissini (St. Stephen of the Abyssinians), the oldest church in Vatican City, on December 12.

On their month anniversary, Conor has shared fresh photos from the big day as he revealed the reasoning behind the ‘urgency’ of marrying Dee.

Among the photos were shots from inside the church, including a glimpse inside the church which was packed with white flowers.

Other photos saw the Crumlin native with his three sons, Conor Jr, Mack and Rian, as well as a family photo which featured Dee and their daughter Croía.

The nuptials came following a five year engagement, with Conor popping the question on Dee’s 33rd birthday in August 2020.

Taking to social media on Monday, Conor detailed how his wedding was 151 days after his birthday, and how he wed at exactly 12:12pm on the 12th of December.

The father-of-four went on to reveal how he had an ‘intense need’ to wed Dee which came following a treatment he underwent in Mexico.

Last year, the sportsman revealed he went through an intense treatment while staying in Tijuana, Mexico.

During his time there, Conor took hallucinogenic ibogaine, which is derived from an African plant and produces strong mind-altering effects, including hallucinations and is described as like ‘having vivid dreams while being awake.’

Now, Conor has revealed after waking from the treatment he had ‘the most intense need to wed Dee.’

He added: ‘So I set about it with great urgency!’

Elsewhere, Conor revealed how the pair received a letter from the Vatican just a week before their wedding which noted the nuptials had to be moved earlier.

‘It then took place officially, at precisely 12:12pm,’ he wrote, ‘It is clear this was not coincidence.’
