The Corrs are to be honoured at a civic reception in their hometown of Dundalk today, which will celebrate their huge success worldwide.
The band will return to their native county for this civic reception, hosted by Louth County Council at An Táin Arts Centre in Dundalk this evening. This year marks 30 years since The Corrs released their debut album, Forgiven, Not Forgotten.
The civic reception was mainly restricted to invited guests, but a limited number of tickets were made available to the public through a lottery event. On the night, the band will also have chat with renowned broadcaster, Dave Fanning.
Speaking about this event, Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council Seán Kelly, said that it is the "highest honour" that a local authority can bestow for exceptional achievements or contributions to society.
"Who has done that more than the Corrs family?", Mr Kelly said.

This weekend will also see an exhibition titled, All The Way Home: A Celebration Of The Corrs, available to the public from the County Museum Dundalk, marking the great achievements of one of Dundalk's most successful acts.
Having formed in the early 1990s, The Corrs have sold more than 40 million albums worldwide.
In 1999, the group which consists of siblings Andrea, Jim, Sharon and Caroline Corr, won Best International Group at the Brit Awards, and landed two Grammy Award nominations in 2001 for Breathless and Rebel Heart.
The civic reception will be streamed live on the Louth County Council Facebook page from 7pm.
