Residents in parts of Dublin 7 may experience a temporary loss of running water on Saturday, July 11, as Uisce Éireann carries out essential works on the local water network.
The planned outage will affect customers in Stoneybatter, Phibsborough, Grangegorman, Arbour Hill, O’Devaney Gardens and surrounding areas.
The interruption to supply is scheduled to take place from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, with Uisce Éireann saying the works have been arranged for the weekend to reduce disruption for the local community.
Uisce Éireann said the works are necessary to facilitate essential upgrades and maintenance on the water network.
Uisce Éireann’s Sinéad Kennedy acknowledged that planned outages can cause inconvenience for customers and thanked residents for their patience while the works are completed.
"We understand the inconvenience caused by an interruption to supply. We would like to thank our customers in advance for their patience and co-operation while we carry out these essential works on the network," she said.
Residents are being advised that the water supply may not return immediately once the works are finished.
Uisce Éireann said it can take three to four hours for normal supply to be fully restored as the network refills, particularly for properties located on higher ground or at the end of the network.
Customers who are registered as vulnerable customers with Uisce Éireann will receive direct communication about planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
Residents can check updates on the work through the Uisce Éireann Supply and Service map by entering the reference number DCC00115404 on the Uisce Éireann website.
