Jozef Puska has abandoned his bid to overturn his conviction for the murder of Aisling Murphy in 2022.

According to reports in RTÉ, Mr Puska is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of the school teacher near Tullamore, Co Offaly. This happened after Ms Murphy was attacked and stabbed to death as she walked along the canal outside Tullamore.

According to lawyers representing Mr Puska, Judge Isobel Kennedy was informed in the Court of Appeal that he had "abandoned his conviction appeal".

The Judge confirmed that she had received the notice of abandonment and the "conviction appeal has been abandoned".
