A trailer for the touching new documentary, The Slightest Touch, starring close friends Colin Farrell and Emma Fogarty has been released. You can check it out below.
Emma Fogarty is a woman who has spent most of her life defying the odds, having been diagnosed with an extremely rare skin condition known as Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), which causes her skin to suffer blisters and tears at the slightest touch. She is 41 years old, an aged many doctors did not expect her to reach.
Colin and Emma took part in the Dublin Marathon in 2024, where the actor pushed Emma in a wheelchair for the final 4km, 1km representing every decade she has lived with EB. The pair managed to raise close to €800,000.
The HBO original documentary itself, is titled, The Slightest Touch, will debut on Thursday, November 26, and will also be available to stream on HBO Max. It has been directed and produced by Rachel Fleit.
It has been described as an "intimate documentary about the power of friendship".
Back in 2024, Colin Farrell had expressed his frustration over the lack of care available to treat this disease.
"I love Emma, I love her to bits. I couldn’t be any more proud of her," he said. "But I don’t think I could be any more frustrated knowing that Emma and all those in our country who suffer with EB aren’t getting the care they could".
Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), otherwise known as the 'Butterfly Skin' requires extensive care, including daily or bi-daily bandaging, putting a huge strain on families. It can feel like third-degree burns, with patients often needing hours of daily bandaging to manage the condition. More on this from Nova here.
