A search operation has been stood down after reports that a man was seen entering the River Liffey in Dublin on Sunday.
Emergency services were called at around 12.20pm following reports that a man, believed to be in his 40s, had entered the water near Custom House Quay.
Dublin Fire Brigade dispatched four units along with a rescue boat to the scene, while an Irish Coast Guard helicopter also assisted in the search.
The operation was stood down at approximately 2.15pm.
The man's whereabouts remain unknown. Authorities believe that if he did not manage to leave the water himself, the current may have carried him away from the area towards Dublin Bay.
No further information has been released so far.
