Police in Denmark and the Czech Republic are investigating threats to air traffic control, while a bomb threat was reported in Romania, amid a series of bomb hoaxes targeting flights, which caused disruption across Europe this week.

In the Czech Republic, they also said they were dealing with threats against planes.

Czech Police said they co operated with Prague's Vaclav Havel Airport, with necessary security measures that had "a minimal impact on the normal operations at the airport".

In the Danish capital of Copenhagen, police were again present at the airport for a second consecutive day "in connection with threats directed at air traffic". They revealed that there was no danger to passengers or to others at the airport, following an immediate assessment.

They went on to say that air traffic was able to continue safely and without disruption.

A flight from Prague to Bucharest which was operated by Romanian carrier, Tarom, was also hit with a bomb threat.

On Friday, bomb threats also targeted RTÉ and other media organisations, raising concerns among security challenges facing Ireland ahead of their EU Presidency summit next week.

This comes after several media organisations across Ireland and Britain were evacuated following bomb threats, which prompted a huge security response. Staff at RTÉ were evacuated from their campus in Donnybrook, before it was eventually declared safe by Gardaí.

Spanish Foreign Minister, Jose Manuel Albares had said that Europe had appeared to be facing "hybrid aggression and a form of psychological warfare".

A bomb threat was also reported in the newsroom of Nova TV in Bulgaria, which led to programming being suspended and offices evacuated.

Thankfully, there were no explosive devices were found on any planes, and those which were threatened today, also landed safely.

Last Tuesday, around half a dozen flights were disrupted, followed by another two the following day.

Following this, it was reported that an Aer Lingus flight travelling from Dublin to Rome was redirected to Evreux airbase in France as a precaution following a security threat. More on this here.

A Wizz Air flight WIZZ.L flight travelling from Prague to Rome was also diverted to Venice. But despite more than a dozen bomb hoaxes, disruption to air travel was minimum.

Airliners flying from Brussels to Sofia and from Prague to Bucharest, as well as Cyprus via Hungarian airspaces, were escorted by Hungarian jets, with their Defence Minister, Romulsuz-Szendi saying that NATO had ordered air patrols in the area, the first involvement from the Western defence alliance.

This follows huge sabotage attacks across Europe, including from German electricity substations and defence related facilities in the Baltic region. While refrigerators in France were also targeted.

Germany also blamed Russia for a drone attack which took place at Leipzig airport.
