Speaking on the daily weather podcast, Rebecca Cantwell, a Met Éireann meteorologist, has said that foggy nights and mornings are predicted for Ireland this coming weekend.
“It’ll be mostly cloudy with light winds and any rainfall will be generally light with just patchy rain and drizzle or isolated showers around", she said on the podcast. “But the main weather story looks like it’ll be the mist and fog. So, under near calm conditions we’re likely to have some foggy nights and as a result some foggy mornings ahead".
Friday morning is to see fog and mist gradually clear, with temperatures to reach highs of between 9 and 12 degrees.
Most areas are to be dry initially, but some patchy rain, drizzle or some sunny spells are to also appear in places.
Persistent rain or drizzle is to develop along eastern parts, with the west of the country to have drier conditions.
Widespread mist is predicted for Friday night, which is to become dense in parts, continuing into Saturday morning.
It is to clear in some places, it will remain in some places, with winds to be light. Showers and patchy rain is to hit northern areas, with the occasional isolated shower or sunny spells expected elsewhere.
As for Saturday, it is to be cooler, ranging between 7 and 11 degrees, with the southern part of the country to experience the coolest weather.
Sunday morning is to be foggy, remaining in some areas into the afternoon, remaining largely dry with highs of 7 and 11 degrees.
Monday is to see breezier weather, with rain to spread from the southwest on Tuesday, according to Met Éireann.
