AC/DC pair, Brian Johnson and Angus Young have shared their "biggest fear" about performing live on stage.
The pair opened up about their fears of performing live while they are both in their 70s in a recent interview with USA Today.
In the interview, Angus Young, aged 71, admitted that he is constantly worries about falling over while on stage and suffering a nasty injury.
"I just worry about if I'm going to trip over … That's about it", he said, to which frontman Johnson added: "Yeah, just stupid s*** like that … On the stage, you can't just immediately do things. You have to learn to watch the other person and ...".
"But we're doing things now we didn't think of doing before - interacting. It's just more fun because we don't care anymore", Johnson said.
He continued: "When you're younger, you take yourself very seriously. You know, you think, 'I'm in a big rock and roll band.' I never used to smile or anything. 'Cause that's what what you thought you were supposed to [do]".
"I think it's still the unknown. You're all rehearsed, you know all your parts and your bits and pieces. But [the unpredictability] still keeps you on edge, you know, to be your best", (quotes according to USA Today).
Elsewhere, Brian Johnson also spoke about adapting to his hearing loss, and having to use a new piece of equipment known as an ADEL (Ambrose Diaphonic Ear Lens).
He explained that he did not sustain this hearing loss from years of performing loud shows, but rather through a bout of flu suffered during AC/DC's 2026 tour which saw him struggle.
"We were in Winnipeg or somewhere like that and it was cold and wet and you’re sweating. But it’s freezing and you have to quick, hurry up, get on the plane and we took off and my ears got so crystallized and the rest was just nasty", he said. "But anyway, I’m a happy ending".
On July 11, AC/DC began their North American leg of their Power Up Tour, and are to play live shows throughout the summer, concluding on September 29 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
This tour has seen AC/DC supported by Pretty Reckless singer, Taylor Momsen, who has been bitten by two different animals while performing with the band on stage in Mexico earlier this year. Find out more on this from Nova here.
