The upcoming instalment will mark the return of Jessica Lange, who will appear in her first American Horror Story season since 2018's Apocalypse.
Also returning is Sarah Paulson, who will reprise one of her most recognisable roles as Cordelia Goode, the Supreme of the witches' coven from Season 3: Coven.

The all-star cast will also feature several other major names from the franchise, including Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe and Leslie Grossman.
The reunion of so many past stars has led fans to speculate that the new season could revisit the storyline and themes of Coven, which first aired in 2013.

Paulson previously spoke about her interest in returning to the character of Cordelia, saying she wanted to explore what happened after the character discovered her powers and became the leader of the coven.
Season 13 will also introduce new faces to the American Horror Story universe, with Ariana Grande, John Waters, Paul Anthony Kelly, Joey Pollari and Alex Consani joining the cast.

Ahead of the premiere, the series is set to make an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con in July with a special fan experience called “13 Flavors”.
The activation will feature four American Horror Story-themed ice cream trucks, with each offering flavours inspired by previous seasons of the show. Fans attending the event will also have the chance to discover a secret “13th scoop”, which is expected to tease details about the upcoming season.

Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, American Horror Story first premiered in 2011 and has become known for its changing storylines, dark themes and returning cast members playing different characters across seasons.
The series is produced by 20th Television, with Murphy and Falchuk serving as executive producers alongside a wider production team.
With the return of some of the show's biggest stars, Season 13 is set to be one of the most anticipated instalments in the franchise so far.
