On June 22nd Spain lifted their three-month lockdown imposed to curb the spread of Covid-19.

To celebrate, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, staged its first live performance since March to a house full of plants.

A total of 2,292 plants filled every seat in the venue.

The event was curated by Spanish artist Eugenio Ampudia, who said he was inspired by nature during the lockdown.

He said, “I heard many more birds singing. And the plants in my garden and outside growing faster. And, without a doubt, I thought that maybe I could now relate in a much intimate way with people and nature.”

All 2,292 plants were gifted to healthcare workers at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona following the performance
