The festival will be celebrating their 20th anniversary next year and they are planning a huge celebration with over 100 artists already announced for their 2026 line-up.
Artists announced for the bill include Biffy Clyro, Two Door Cinema Club, Wolf Alice and others.
According to the BBC, Festival co-founder, Ben Robinson revealed that they had been courting Biffy Clyro for over a decade to perform at their festival. Robinson revealed that they had been trying to get the band to attend their festival "like blushing school kids for a decade" and their performance would be a "true highlight".
The festival launched in 2006 and plans to return to the Lake District’s Lowther Deer Park from Thursday July 30 to Sunday August 2 to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
According to NME, the festival had sold 95 percent of their tickets before they even released the line-up. Festival organisers have confirmed that over 120 artists are set to take the stage next summer.
Joining Biffy Clyro at the top of the bill are Irish rock band, Two Door Cinema Club who will be taking the stage to perform their debut album 'Tourist History' along with the fan favourites from their other LP's. The Irish rock band announced in October of this year that they will also be embarking on a tour to celebrate their 15th anniversary. They will be making their Irish return next summer with a gig in Fairview Park. Read more on Nova here.
The news of the Biffy Clyro's headline show next year comes shortly after bassist, James Johnston revealed that he has quit the band to seek professional help for his addiction and mental health issues. James explained the news in an Instagram post on the bands official account on Monday, December 15th.
The post captioned "A message from James" read, "I am heartbroken to let you know that I will not be joining the band on the upcoming tours. For some time, I have been living with mental health problems which have led to addiction issues that I have kept concealed for a long time. This has caused significant problems for myself and everyone around me - the time has come to properly address my illnesses and deal with them. I am extremely sorry to Ben and Simon and thank them for their continued love, patience, support and understanding throughout this time."
He continued: "I have recently started to receive the professional help that I need and assure you that there is light at the end of the tunnel. To all our fabs, your support means so much to me and in the meantime our dear friend Naomi McCleod will be taking care of bass duties, and I cannot think of a better person for the job. With love, James."
