Brian May has said that his health issues were a "wake up call" after suffering a minor stroke last year.

The Queen guitarist revealed this while speaking on Alan Titchmarsh's Love Your Weekend, stating that he was lucky to have recovered after suffering a "number" of issues in recent years.

Titchmarsh told May: "We were concerned. You had a bit of a stroke. But, you seem to be fully recovered, that was last year".

“I’ve had a number of things, Alan, yeah, the stroke was one of them. I’ve been lucky, I get these things, but I seem to be able to get out of them. They give you a wake-up call", May replied.

Back in September, Brian May suffered a minor stroke, but his wife Anita Dobson insisted that he was on the road to recovery.

May had called it "a little scary", May said that the stroke came "all of a sudden, out of the blue", leaving him without any control over his arms.

“The good news is that I can play guitar after the events of the last few days", May added.

“He’s been told to rest. It’s hard to keep him resting, but he needs to, otherwise he won’t get well", Dobson told The Sun's Bizarre column. “He’s doing great – he’s on the road, he’s doing really, really well. We’re very pleased". More on this here.

In other news, Brian May had previously said that Queen have been working in the studio, saying that they have been "very keen" to play at the Las Vegas Sphere. More on this from Nova here.
