Bruce Springsteen has confirmed that his wife, Patti Scialfa is in remission from cancer, following an eight year battle.

This comes after Scialfa was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer in 2018, but had kept the news private until 2024, when she appeared in the documentary, Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

Bruce Springsteen confirmed the great news regarding his wife's health while speaking at a live at a virtual appearance at the Pann-Mass Challenge fundraiser in Boston, which raises funds for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, supporting cancer research and treatment.

"As you know, Patti's been living with her multiple myeloma for over eight years, but now, thankfully, she is in remission", Springsteen said. "However, like millions of families facing cancer, we've learned what every patient learns: Hope has a face. It's our physician, who refuses to stop searching and caring. It's our nurse, who sits beside us when we are scared".

Springsteen also praised the institute, adding that it is a "reason families find hope when hope seems hardest to find".

"Patti and I are grateful for everything you continue to do. Thank you", he added.

Scialfa, a guitarist who has been a member of the E Street Band since 1984, had said at the time that he had taken some time away from touring with the E Street Band as it had become a challenge.

"This affects my immune system, so I just have to be careful what I choose to do and where I choose to go", she said.

Patti Scialfa and Bruce Springsteen, who have been married since 1991, also share three children, who are now aged in their 30s.

Last week, Bruce Springsteen had led the tributes to the late Irish music legend, Glen Hansard, who died following a motorcycle accident in Dublin. He was 56 years old.

Taking to Instagram, Springsteen shared an emotional message.

"Here on E Street, we are heartbroken over the death of Glen Hansard", Springsteen wrote. "We met in Ireland many years ago and he was always nothing but a great musician, a good friend and a generous and gracious man".

"Always positive, smiling and ready to sing. God bless him and his loved ones".
