Christchurch Cathedral Sealed Off Amid Bomb Scare


Update: Christchurch Place has reopened both ways between the Castle St jct and the Nicholas St jct following an incident. Traffic is moving better on surrounding routes.

The Army Bomb Disposal unit has removed a firework in “strange packaging” from the scene of a bomb scare at Christchurch in Dublin.

The area around Christchurch Cathedral in Dublin had been closed off amid a bomb scare.

Gardai and the army bomb squad attended the scene, where a suspicious device had been found.

A number of roads were shut while teams checked to see if it was a threat.

Drivers in the area are being told to expect delays and diversions.
