'CONOR KINSELLA' Among Radio Nova's Irish Music Month 2026 Finalists

A songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Dublin, Kinsella's genre-bending sound combines the raw energy of punk with jazz-infused arrangements, ambient experimentation and infectious pop hooks. Political, self-deprecating and often delightfully unpredictable, his music draws from a vast range of influences while carving out a distinct identity all of its own.

Kinsella has enjoyed a breakthrough period over the last year, playing a sold-out show at Whelan's Upstairs after s supporting the folk-punk legends Crywank at their sold-out headline show in Dublin in 2026.

His debut single, SomeoneUKnow, marked the beginning of a new chapter following the breakup of his previous band, with the artist describing the track ON Instagram as the product of a "Transformative creative period filled with new collaborations and renewed enthusiasm for music."

With a growing fanbase, live show's and detailed songwriting, CONOR KINSELLA's place among Radio Nova's Irish Music Month finalists is further evidence of the emerging Irish music scene.

Irish Music Month brings together Radio Nova and 22 independent radio stations across the country to champion Irish music through increased airplay and valuable opportunities for developing

artists. Founded by Hot Press in partnership with the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland, the initiative continues to provide a vital platform for rising musicians on the national stage.

As one of Radio Nova's four finalists, CONOR KINSELLA will be on The Nova Guestlist with Kieran McGuinness, where he will compete to become the station's Local Hero for Irish Music Month 2026.One of the four act will be progressing to the national stage of the competition. From there, six acts from around the country will be selected to perform at the Grand Finale in Dublin's Academy.

The overall national winner will earn a cash prize along industry support, including a recording session, mastering at Spéir Mix & Mastering, a single release through Rubyworks, expert mentoring, a national PR campaign and guaranteed radio play across participating stations nationwide.

Even if Radio Nova's Local Hero does not make the final six, they remain eligible for the public-voted Wildcard Award.
