To celebrate her birthday, Dolly Parton has released a deluxe edition of her recent rock covers album Rockstar, including new covers of tracks from Billy Joel & Eurythmics.

This new deluxe edition of this album features Parton’s renditions of Billy Joel’s The Entertainer, and Eurythmics’ Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This).

The album also includes bonus covers of Eddie Money’s Two Tickets to Paradise, Pat Benatar’s Hit Me With Your Best Shot, and Simon & Garfunkel’s Like A Bridge Over Troubles.

“I’m going give you a present” – Parton

Sharing this good news on her X account, Dolly Parton wrote, “It’s my Birthday so I’m going to give you a present!”.

She also added, “I’m releasing four never released songs for my birthday, to go with the ‘Rockstar’ album, and a few others that you may have heard before that were not on the album. I hope you enjoy them, and I hope you all have a happy birthday for me! LOL”.

This deluxe edition of Rockstar also features a new original song from Parton, ‘Mama Never Said’, and a live rendition of ‘Rockin It’.

The Sylvester Stallone-featuring ‘Stay Out Of My Bedroom’ from the soundtrack of the 1984 film Rhinestone is also included.

Rockstar was originally released by Parton last November, featuring a wide range of covers and collaborations from several artists, including Steve Perry, Paul McCartney, Debbie Harry, Elton John among others.

This release also included the much publicised lead off single World On Fire, which Parton addressed in an interview.
