An investigation is underway after the door of an Irish Air Corps helicopter fell off and landed in the grounds of Moyle Park College, in Clondalkin yesterday evening.
The helicopter, which is part of the emergency air service, was on its way back to Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel just before 6pm when the rear door detached.
Nobody on the ground or in the air was injured during the incident.
The Defence Forces said that the AW139 helicopter had just completed a life-saving mission to a Dublin hospital when the incident happened.
