It has been confirmed that a Dublin Dart station is to temporarily shut tomorrow evening during the UEFA Nations League match between the Republic of Ireland and Austria at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin.
Iarnrod Eireann have confirmed that from 3,30 pm tomorrow, Lansdown Road is to close due to a "normal testing and readiness exercise", as part of a plan to help prepare for future sporting events at the Aviva Stadium, including Euro 2028, with seven matches from that tournament set to take place at the Dublin stadium.
This is an exercise aimed at examining logistics, safety, mobility, security and stadium safety.
It was also announced that DART services will still carry on as normal at other stations, including extra services before and after the match at the Aviva Stadium. But trains will not stop at Lansdown Road from 3.30 pm tomorrow.
Instead, fans and commuters have been asked to used either the Grand Canal Dock, or Sandymount Stations during this closure. The Grand Canal Dock Dart Station will remain open for the duration of this closure exercise, including after the match.
Supporters have also been asked to allow for extra time than normal for their journey to and from the stadium.
A spokesperson for Iarnrod Eireann said that additional support will also be in place for fans going to the stadium, while stewards will also be available to assist and guide supporters.
Any passengers with mobility issues who are not attending the matches but normal use the station have also been advised to contact Iarnrod Eireann for assistance. While those attending with mobility issues have been asked to avail of the Sandymount DART Station. (All quotes according to the Irish Sun).
