There’s an appeal for witnesses following the discovery of a young woman’s body in a disused house on the Clonee Road in the Lucan area of Dublin this afternoon.

Gardai believe the remains are those of missing 14 year old Anastasia Kriegal, who’s known as Ana.

She had been missing since Monday and was last seen in St. Catherine’s Park, not far from the scene being investigated.

A full investigation is underway at a derelict site in the Lucan area. Gardai are treating the discovery as suspicious – but are awaiting the results of a post mortem to determine the course of the investigation.

During a search for a missing teenager a body was found on the Clonee road at around 1 o’clock.

Superintendent John Gordon from Lucan Garda Station said they’re treating the discovery as suspicious.

He said: “We are appealing to the public for their assistance. Anyone who was here in St. Catherine’s Park or on the Clonee Road from 5pm onwards on Monday the 14th of May to contact Lucan Garda Station”.

The scene is preserved pending a full Garda technical examination and the body remains at the scene. Lucan Gardai say they are investigating all circumstances surrounding the discovery.
