Go-Ahead Ireland (GAI) has unveiled plans to create 400 new jobs across Dublin and Wicklow as part of its continued expansion in the region.
A minimum of 90 roles will be located at GAI’s upcoming satellite depot in Wicklow, supporting the company’s growing operations throughout the county.
The vacancies span all areas of the organisation, covering drivers, mechanics, apprenticeships, administrative roles, and management positions. Recruitment has already begun and will continue in line with the National Transport Authority’s BusConnects Network Redesign rollout.
These jobs follow GAI’s recent success in securing the NTA’s Outer Dublin Metropolitan Area (ODMA) North and South bus services contract. Under this agreement, the operator will run 65 routes from its Ballymount, Ballycoolin, and Kilpedder facilities—bringing the company’s total network to 72 routes once all services are fully mobilised.
Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien highlighted the significance of the expansion, saying “Investment in our public transport services and the commitment of operators such as GAI go hand in hand in furthering the development of sustainable public transport that benefits communities.”
GAI remains the fastest-growing bus operator in Dublin, having carried 22.5 million passengers in 2024, a figure the company says reflects the public’s rising trust in its service reliability and quality.
Managing Director Dervla McKay praised the company’s steady momentum: “The business has progressed steadily over the past several years, built on our commitment to provide reliable, accessible, and friendly public transport services, which has positioned us as the fastest growing bus operator in the region.”
She also noted the company’s upcoming milestone: “We also look forward to launching our largest depot yet in Northwest Business Park, Dublin 15, which will house the majority of our Northside based routes and play a central role in supporting our continued growth.”
