A number of musicians, including bandmembers of Black Sabbath and Metallica paid tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne at his funeral yesterday.
Ozzy Osbourne passed away last week aged 76, with the funeral cortege for the singer gathering through Birmingham as fans said goodbye for Osbourne. Thousands of fans left plenty of flowers and messages for the late singer, with the hearse making its way through Birmingham, alongside his family through to Broad Street. More on this here.
Among those who attended the service, which was livestreamed, included Osbourne's bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, as well as his long time guitarist Zakk Wylde, James Hetfield, Marilyn Manson, Corey Taylor, Elton John, Rob Zombie, and Yungblud.
Speaking about the send off, a family friend told The Sun: "Ozzy’s service was a beautiful tribute. As well as tears, there was laughter".
Another friend added: "Everyone at the service just wanted to support Sharon and the kids, it has been an awful time. Toasts were raised, memories were shared — it was a very fitting goodbye".
Ozzy Osbourne was buried next to the late on their Buckinghamshire property, which featured a decorated wreath, which read: "Ozzy F****** Osbourne", with a floral arrangement spelling: "Ozzy".
The family friend added: "Ozzy wanted his final place of rest to be at home and he is buried at a beautiful point on the lake".
Earlier this week, it also emerged that Ozzy Osbourne's and Black Sabbath's streaming figures saw a huge increase following the rock legend's death. More on this here.
