Jack White has called out US President Donald Trump over his recent meme depicting himself as Jesus Christ, and his scathing remarks on Pope Leo.

The White Stripes frontman hit out at the President on social media, where he had his say on his controversial Truth Social post.

White, whose mother is a devout catholic and he a former alter boy, had this to say.

“Hey evangelical Christians? Remember that anti-Christ you been squawking about all these years and how he’d present himself as Christlike and bring about the end of days with a final war in the Middle East involving Jerusalem? Well…check out your boy now!”, White wrote.

He continued: “Listen, if the felonies, Epstein files, rapes, bombing of schoolchildren, gestapo ICE agents attacking his own citizens, threatening to invade Greenland, Cuba, Venezuela and Iran all didn’t convince you that you fell for this deranged grifter, maybe this lil’ post will?".

“How can any so-called Christian support him after this blasphemy? How could any Catholic support him after he attacks the character of their Pope multiple times? How did so many millions of people fall for this conman?", he added. “He’s already got worst President in the history of America on lock, but I’m gonna go ahead and take the honour of pronouncing Trump ‘Worst American of All Time’".

This comes after Trump had shared an AI generated image showing him appearing to heal an ill man in a hospital bed, which had been widely condemned, including from his own supporters.

The President has since deleted the post, claiming that he thought the photo had shown him “as a doctor, and had to do with Red Cross, as a Red Cross worker there, which we support… only the ‘fake news’ could come up with that one”.

This did not wash with White, who insisted that this backlash was justified as “SOME christians actually take their own religion seriously”.

“Trump is now saying that this AI image depicts him as a doctor for the Red Cross!” he added. “He lies, then lies about the lie, then doubles down on that lie with another lie and they Just. Keep. Falling. For. It".

Jack White has been a long time critic of Trump, having previously threatened to sue the President for using The White Stripes hit, 'Seven Nation Army' in a promotional post. More on this here.

Donald Trump has also been heavily criticised over his comments made to Pope Leo XIV, where he labelled him "terrible" and "weak on crime, and terrible for foreign policy".

In response, the pope insisted that he has no fear of the Trump administration.

"I have no fear of neither the Trump administration nor speaking out loudly about the message of the Gospel", he said. "We're not politicians. We're not looking to make foreign policy, as he [Trump] calls it, with the same perspective that he might understand it".
