Josh Klinghoffer is to replace Janes’ Addiction’s Dave Navarro for the band’s upcoming shows as the guitarist continues to recover from long Covid.

Jane’s Addiction confirmed this news via a statement, as Navarro continues to recuperate, having been forced to miss some shows last year due to his illness, with Queen of the Stone Age’s Troy Van Leeuwen deputising in his absence.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Josh Klinghoffer had previously performed as a touring member for Pear Jam recently.

“in a great place”

In a statement, Jane’s Addiction said that they hope Dave Navarro can return to the band when he is fit to do so.

“We’d like to address the questions surrounding Dave and the upcoming Jane’s shows”, they said. “As a band we are in a great place, writing new music, and the bond is tighter than ever. We all hope Dave can be out playing with us; when he feels healthy and ready”.

They continued, “For the near future, our brother Josh Klinghoffer will jump in for the upcoming shows on the West Coast, South America and some additional international shows to be announced soon”.

“We want to thank you for being there with us over these thirty some odd odd years. You know, we’re going to keep throwing down for you”.

Klinghoffer will perform with the band for several upcoming US dates, along with three Lollopalooza shows.
