Liam Gallagher appears to be settling into his latest chapter with characteristic swagger, as news spreads of his move to one of the UK’s most celebrity-packed rural enclaves. The Oasis frontman has reportedly purchased a €4.9 million mansion in the village of Coates, near Cirencester, placing him firmly in the heart of the Cotswolds — an area increasingly dubbed Britain’s answer to Hollywood Hills.

The sprawling countryside region, long associated with postcard-perfect villages, rolling green landscapes and discreet luxury, has in recent years become a magnet for A-listers seeking privacy away from London.

Gallagher himself acknowledged the area’s celebrity pull when he took to social media to announce his arrival, jokingly declaring himself the newest famous resident in a neighbourhood already bursting at the seams with star power.

Indeed, the list of high-profile names linked to the Cotswolds reads like a global celebrity roll call. Sir David Beckham and Victoria Beckham are among the area’s most high-profile residents, while supermodel Kate Moss, music mogul Simon Cowell and comedian-turned-talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres have also established roots there. Reports have even suggested that Beyoncé and Jay-Z are exploring property options nearby, further cementing the region’s status as a luxury hotspot for the rich and famous.

Despite the glitz attached to his new postcode, Gallagher was quick to distance himself from the stereotype of the reclusive celebrity neighbour. In a post that quickly did the rounds online, he reassured locals in typically blunt fashion, writing: “To all the BEAUTIFUL people from the cotswolds I come in peace you won't even know I'm there.” He followed up by insisting he wasn’t “like all those divvy celebrities”, a remark that felt vintage Liam — part tongue-in-cheek, part defiant declaration of independence.

The move comes at a busy time for Gallagher, who remains one of Britain’s most visible and outspoken rock stars decades after Oasis first exploded onto the scene. His solo career continues to thrive, with recent tours selling out arenas across the UK and Ireland, and his legacy as a defining voice of Britpop showing no signs of fading. Gallagher has also remained firmly embedded in the cultural conversation thanks to ongoing speculation surrounding a potential Oasis reunion — rumours he alternately fuels and shuts down depending on the day.

Relocating to the Cotswolds may also signal a desire for balance. While Gallagher has never shied away from the chaos of city life, the area’s reputation for discretion and space offers a stark contrast to the noise of London and Manchester alike. It’s also a place steeped in quiet sporting and cultural history — as Gallagher himself noted, former Arsenal captain Tony Adams previously lived in the area, adding another unexpected name to its long list of famous former residents.

Whether he becomes a low-key local or an instantly recognisable fixture in village pubs remains to be seen. But if Gallagher’s word is to be believed, residents of Coates shouldn’t expect fireworks. For now, the self-styled rock ’n’ roll icon insists he’s arriving peacefully — even if his presence alone is enough to add another headline-grabbing name to Britain’s most star-studded countryside.

Liam Gallagher Teases 2026 Oasis Activity

Liam Gallagher has fuelled rumours that Oasis could be set to hit the road in 2026 after all.

Last month, the singer appeared to rule out the possibility that the band could be set to tour in 2026, following rumours that they were set to perform a run of follow up shows following their much publicised reunion tour in 2025.

“We’re not doing anything in 2026 sorry", Gallagher tweeted last month, before later adding: “Nothing going on next year except the WC (World Cup)". Find out more on this story from Nova here.

Gallagher also denied reports that Oasis were set to perform at Knebworth next year, saying: “I don’t [have] snizzle to do until 2027 I mean happy Christmas".

However, Gallagher appeared to suggest that Oasis could be taking to the stage in 2026.

When a fan wrote to him on social media that “Oasis 2025 will officially be over in a day”, Liam responded: “Bring on 2027 I mean 2026 I mean happy easter”.

The singer also shared a few teasers relating to the make-up of possible Oasis setlists for these tours.

After one fan had asked if 'Listen Up' would feature on the list, Gallagher replied: “If we tour again there will be changes to the set list thems the rules”. Another fan asked if 'Columbia' would feature on future lists, Gallagher said: “Oh it’ll be there if we tour again".

News of this comes as new data reveals that Oasis sold more tickets than Beyoncé in 2025.

According to data compiled by Pollstar, a leading global trade publication for the live entertainment industry, Oasis' tour grossed $407 million, compared with Beyoncé's $405 million. It also showed that Oasis sold 630,000 more tickets than Beyoncé, 2,228,471 vs 1,596,165. While Oasis also played 36 dates, compared Beyoncé's 32.

Both acts featured in a top 10 revenue list, which also included artists Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Post Malone and The Weeknd. More on this story from Nova here.
