Liam Gallagher has revealed that he has taken up metal detecting, admitting that he enjoys the thrill of the hunt.
The Oasis frontman shared the news on X after being asked whether he prefers boxing or football. “I’m a big fan of the metal detector phenomenon,” he replied. “It’s not a sport but it can get competitive at times so I would say it is.”

When one fan questioned whether he was joking, Gallagher insisted he was telling the truth. “Well I get asked a question and I answer it honestly,” he wrote.
He later summed up his new hobby in typical Liam fashion, adding: “I do it for the buzz n the bing.”

One fan jokingly branded the singer a “country bumpkin”.
Gallagher, who lives in a £4.25 million mansion in the Cotswolds village of Coates, is known to enjoy spending time outdoors. He is also regularly spotted walking his rescue dog, Buttons.
The Gallagher brother is no stranger to sharing his opinions on X, and his latest revelation comes amid another war of words involving Irish band Fontaines D.C.

Earlier this week, a fan asked Oasis why they had not booked Fontaines D.C. to support them on their upcoming Live '27 tour.
Gallagher was quick to dismiss the suggestion, replying: “not good enough they don’t have any tunes.”

The comments come after Fontaines D.C. released their new album Dopamine Chamber and previewed the record at an intimate gig at London's Roundhouse on October 15.
The two acts have previously exchanged comments over the Oasis reunion.
In 2024, Fontaines D.C. guitarist Carlos O'Connell said the band “couldn't really give a sh**” about the reunion."
Bassist Conor Deegan III also expressed little excitement, saying: “I’m not excited about it either, to be honest. I feel like we get caught in the last era – like the ’10s – and into such a nostalgic thing that we’re forgetting to make new things.”

Liam subsequently hit back when asked whether Fontaines D.C. could support Oasis on their Live '25 tour.
“F***k them little spunkbubbles I’ve seen better dressed ROADIES,” he replied.

In another post, Gallagher added: “They look like a sh** EMF,” before responding to a clip of the band's interview with the words: “State of em.”
