Liam Gallagher’s new album ‘As You Were’ becomes the fastest-selling vinyl record of the last 20 years. The former Oasis man’s debut solo album came out on October 6th.
‘As You Were’ sold a whopping 16,000 vinyl copies in its first week, therefore making it the fastest-selling record since 1997.
Gallagher’s new record went straight in at No.1 in the UK Albums Chart last week but this is a sweet bonus for the Manchester man.
The ‘Wall of Glass’ singer has earned the title of highest-selling debut of the year but also the third highest overall after Ed Sheeran’s ‘Divide’ and Rag ‘N’ Bone Man’s ‘Human’, on top of being the ninth highest-selling of the decade so far.
The album has been met with generally positive reviews as well and Gallagher took to Twitter to acknowledge his success: “It’s official Rock n Roll is No. 1 congratulations to you to me congratulations to all of us for making it happen as you were LG x”
