Linkin Park Singer Chester Bennington to Receive MusiCares Award

Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington is set to be honored at a special benefit concert at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on May 30 in support of the MusiCares MAP Fund. The fund helps aid members of the music community by giving them access to addiction recovery resources, such as emergency financial assistance for basic living expenses and medical expenses. Specifically, Bennington will be honored with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award for his dedication to helping addicts make it through their recovery programs. Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington will pick up the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award at an upcoming MuisCares benefit show.

“MusiCares MAP Fund is an amazing program that takes care of their own, and actually saves lives,” Bennington said in an official statement. “It’s been so rewarding to support them and see firsthand what they’ve accomplished for so many artists.”

Bennington isn’t the only celebrity who will pick up an award at the show, as skateboarder, surfer and musician Tony Alva will receive the From the Heart Award for his years of service. For more information on the show at the MusiCares program, visit the program’s official website.
