A man was arrested after climbing a crane in Dublin City centre yesterday.

This incident took place on Talbot Street, Dublin 1, and was attended to by Gardaí and Dublin Fire Brigade around 7pm following concerns a man had climbed a crane. This led to disruption of traffic, while Luas services were temporarily suspended.

These services included Marlborough street with trams only running between Broombridge to Dominic and St Stephens Green to Brides Glen.

After Gardaí had responded to the incident, an on-screen commander and Garda negotiators were appointed, as a cordon was established around the area.

Thankfully, Gardaí were able to safely remove the man from the crane following successful negotiations. He was later arrested and was detained in Garda Station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.
