A man has been arrested for stealing flowers from Ozzy Osbourne's memorial in Birmingham.
The 45-year-old Parviz Jafari, was arrested and charged with theft by the West Midlands Police after officers were alerted that flowers had been taken from the memorial on Broad Street.
Jafari is scheduled to appear in court on September 3rd
The iconic Black Sabbath singer passed away late last month at the age of 76 from a heart attack. The Osbourn family released a statement that he was “surrounded by love” at the time of his passing.
Osbourne had been suffering from a coronary heart disease and Parkinson’s.
Just before his death Osbourne played a final gig in his hometown of Birmingham, raising “a ton” of money for charities Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acom Children’s Hospice.
Since his passing, fans have taken to the streets of Birmingham to lay down flowers and pay tribute to the ‘Crazy Train’ singer. Thousands of fans also attended the musicians funeral procession on July 31st.
Ozzy was laid to rest at a private ceremony in Buckinghamshire.
Earlier this month it was announced that the flowers and gifts laid in Birmingham's city centre will be preserved by the Central Bid Birmingham to be sent to the late singer’s family.
Ozzy’s children Jack and Kelly Osbourne both shared emotional messages to their father while King Charles’ army band also paid tribute by covering the famous Black Sabbath track ‘Paranoid’.
The exhibition ‘Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero’, in the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery will remain open until next year, showcasing the life and awards of the late singer.
Additionally a biopic about Ozzy and his wife Sharon's life has also been in the works at Sony Pictures.
