A man has appeared in court charged with dangerous driving in connection to an incident in North Dublin over the weekend.
Sean McGlone, 29, from Beechwood Drive in Drogheda appeared before the Balbriggan District Court this morning.
Garda Ultan McElroy said via RTE that he arrested McGlone at his home in Drogheda at 6pm yesterday evening on suspicion of the driving offence of endangerment. Garda McElroy gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution.
The court heard this morning that McGlone was taken to Balbriggan Garda Station where he was charged with dangerous driving.
Defence barrister Pearse Collins made an application for bail, which Garda McElroy made no objections to as long as their were strict conditions imposed.
McGlone was granted bail of €5,000 with a lodgement of €1,000 today. He must avoid Skerries and Balbriggan, have no contact with witnesses, be of good behaviour and not consume alcohol, according to RTE.
Gardaí responded to reports of an incident on Harbour Road in Skerries just before 10pm on Saturday night.
Four people, including three teenagers were injured on Saturday night and taken to Beaumont Hospital with "non-life-threatening injuries."
Gardaí stated via the Irish Independent that they responded to the incident after a "large number of youths gathered and an altercation broke out."
A Garda spokesperson said that during the course of the incident "a car drove at a number of people.”
McGlone is set to appear in court again in Balbriggan on September 23rd.
