On November 23rd, six musicians from iconic seventies and eighties rock bands such as REO Speedwagon, Loverboy, Journey and more are forming a supergroup for one night only in aid of charity.

Ice Skating legend, Scott Hamilton, hosts an annual fundraiser for cancer research, Scott Hamilton and Friends. This years event will see six rock legends come together to form a supergroup for one performance only.

"It’s going to be a big old rock and roll show, we're getting six lead singers or performers from six bands that were just iconic in the late seventies, eighties."" Hamilton told PEOPLE magazine.

The rock legends taking to the stage are Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon, Mike Reno from Loverboy, Jason Derlatka of Journey, Wally Palmar of The Romantics, lead singer of the band Chicago Jason Scheff, and John Elefante of Kansas.

Hamilton expresses to PEOPLE that some of these musicians are his heroes, "Back in the day, I would've killed to get a backstage pass to see or meet or to be in the same proximity as these guys, and now I'm producing them in my show. It's like, are you kidding me?" he said.

Hamilton explained that the rest of the event will bring skaters and musicians to put together a "night of entertainment." The event will be held in Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, and they plan to turn the arena into a theatre for the night. The glass will be taken out and two rows of seats will be on the ice to ensure that nothing will "prevent them from seeing and feeling the skater right in front of them," Hamilton said.

Funds raised at the event will go to cancer research centres, a cause that is deeply important to Hamilton as he is a cancer survivor and the founder of CARES, along with the 4th Angel foundation which pairs newly diagnosed patients with survivors.

"Everything I’ve learned, everything I’ve seen, everything I’ve witnessed, everything that I believe to be true says that there’ll be a time, probably in my lifetime — and I’m 67, so it’s not like I’ve got decades and decades left — is that there will be a day where no one dies of cancer," Hamilton said.
