A Yellow Rainfall Weather Warning In Place From 9am

Met Eireann have issued a weather warning for parts of Ireland with heavy rain also expected to hit Dublin.

The yellow rain alert is in place for seven counties in the south east including Carlow, Kilkenny, Cork and Waterford.

The day will start off dry in the capital but thicker cloud and heavier rain will begin in the afternoon.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: “Apart from a few showers, today will begin dry and bright, but thick cloud with widespread and persistent rain, heavy at times, will move in through the day.
