It has been reported that Metallica are close to signing a deal to play a residency at the Las Vegas Sphere in 2027.

A recent report in The Sun has cited a source stating that the band are almost done with the deal and waiting to sign the final contract. “Metallica having a residency at the Sphere is all anyone is talking about on the Strip, they have been to see the bosses and met all the tech team to talk through and plan out a show in principle," their source said.

“The contracts are still to be signed but we were told they are 90 per cent there. Metallica will bring a different feel to a show there and there is a lot of excitement from bosses at the Sphere about what this could look like," they continued.

Last April, Kirk Hammett stated that Metallica would love to perform at the sphere, stating that it was a great example of how "venues are changing". He continued: “That’s using modern technology to the fullest, to really up the levels of production and entertainment, connected to AI and making it a crazy experience.”

Metallica are set to perform in Dublin's Aviva stadium for two nights, they are performing shows on the 19th of June and the 21st of June. You can check for tickets here.
