Neil Young has called off his upcoming European tour , including a show in Cork.
The singer was fixed to play a run of Summer shows this year, including gigs in the UK and Europe, like Glasgow, Manchester, Woodstock and Cork. But now, he has cancelled the tour with The Chrome Hearts, saying that it is "not the time" for him to be playing live. He also apologised fans as he announced that he has "decided to take a break".
“I have decided to take a break and will not be touring Europe this time", Young wrote. “Thanks to everyone who bought tickets. I’m sorry to let you down, but this is not the time".
“I do love playing live and being with you and The Chrome Hearts. Love, Neil. Be well".
Neil Young was due to kick off this tour in the South West in Cornwall in June, and was due to finish off in north west Italy in July.
The singer is renowned for singles including Cinnamon Girl, Like A Hurricane and Rockin’ In The Free World, and last year he headlined at Glastonbury and took to the stage at BST Hyde Park.
Last month, Young showed his support for Greenland, after announcing that he was offering free access to his entire digital archive to their residents amid the ongoing threats from US President Donald Trump to invade the country. More on this from Nova here.
