A new short film about The Beatles, 'Free As A Bird: A Song Reborn' has been released to YouTube.
The short film will look at the making of the Fab Four's 1994 single, 'Free As A Bird', which saw Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr reunite after 24 years, using an unfinished John Lennon demo to create the track.
It will include previously unseen footage from the studio sessions for the song, and sees the three surviving bandmembers work with producer Jeff Lynne, while also talking about their former bandmate and friend John Lennon, and how they worked on the song in his absence.
Free As A Bird: A Song Reborn also featured in the recently re-released The Beatles Anthology, which was a recently remastered version of the ABC documentary from 1995. It is currently streaming on Disney+.
While the initial series included eight parts, the new version is set to include a ninth instalment, with more from the 'Free As A Bird' sessions.
Back in November, record producer Giles Martin said that the Beatles' new Anthology provides a real sense of togetherness from The Fab Four.
Martin, whose father George had originally mastered this Anthology, said: “The episodes first came out in the ‘90s in the days of things being shot on video. Peter Jackson’s team can restore everything. It’s amazing with the benefit of hindsight. In the years before ‘Anthology’ first came out, no one was talking about The Beatles in that whole chasm of time. Since then, that triggered a plethora of stuff".
“My dad brought me in on it, but even he was telling me back then that he hadn’t worked on anything to do with The Beatles since 1970".
