A deal has been reached with Universal Pictures for a "definitive" biopic on Bon Jovi, according to reports.
The biopic is also set to be produced by Gotham Chopra, whose company Religion of Sports had produced the Hulu documentary series, Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story. Chopra had directed all four episodes of the series.
This was first reported in Deadline, this biopic is set look at "the formative years and the stepping stones to get to where the band's rock anthems filled stadiums all over the world".
It also added: "The studio that made fact-based music biopics Straight Outta Compton and 8 Mile has invested in a package that will have the participation of leader Jon Bon Jovi and access to the band's music library".
A director for the biopic has yet to be announced, while information regarding casting has also yet to be confirmed.
News of this comes as Bon Jovi announced a return to Ireland next year as part of their 2026 World Tour, which will see them head over to Croke Park on 30 August.
At the time, frontman Jon Bon Jovi said, “There is a lot of joy in this announcement – joy that we can share these nights together with our amazing fans and joy that the band can be together. I am lucky enough to be able to hold a light out to the audience each night and stand in their reflection for a tremendous collective experience – I get to stand in the we of our concerts".
Speaking about the band's album, he added: “This album is more than just a collection of collaborations, it is an album borne out of necessity. My vocal cord surgery and rehab was a well-documented journey, and without the ability to tour or promote Forever, I decided to call on some friends to help me in my time of need. The result is an album with a new viewpoint and new spirit — a collaboration album that proves we all get by in this world with a little help from our friends".
