New Zealand is set to hold a referendum on legalising cannabis at their general election in 2020.

It’s after the Labour Party agreed to the Green Party’s proposal last year as part of their confidence and supply agreement.

It comes a week after the country passed a law making medicinal cannabis available.

If New Zealand does legalise cannabis for recreational use, it will be the third country in the world to do so after Canada and Uruguay.
