Irish Music Month returns this year with Radio Nova and 22 independent radio stations across Ireland supporting emerging talent.

Among Radio Nova’s finalists is NO PHOTOS.

The alt-pop three-piece is comprised of Zach, Casper and Erik, who met during their first year of college in Dún Laoghaire. Since forming in 2022, the band has steadily built a reputation as a promising emerging act, combining influences from bedroom R&B, alternative hip-hop and indie rock to create a sound that is both distinctive and Unclassifiable.

Writing songs that explore themes of identity, friendship and coming of age, NO PHOTOS have developed a sound which balances vulnerability with infectious pop, helping them stand out in Ireland’s increasingly diverse alternative music scene.

The trio began their live journey opening for the indie band HighSchool, performing in venues such as The Sugar Club and Workman’s Cellar.

In 2024 NO PHOTOS supported UK band Corella at The Grand Social as part of the group's UK and Ireland tour. Since then, the band have focused on developing their debut album, taking a brief hiatus from live performances to write and record.

The trio released Strand, their debut album,  in April 2026, which has been met with notable success.

As one of Radio Nova’s four Irish Music Month finalists, NO PHOTOS will be on The Nova Guestlist with Kieran McGuinness, competing for the chance to become the station’s Local Hero and advance to the national stages of the competition.

All part of Radio Nova's Irish Music Month campaign, each artist or band will receive €875 for their live performance, with one act chosen to represent the station as its "Local Hero."

The "local Hero" will progress to the national stage, where they are in the chance to win cash prizes, a professional recording session at Camden Recording Studios, mastering from Grammy-winning engineer Ruadhri Cushnan at Spéir Mix & Mastering, a single release through Rubyworks, industry mentoring and guidance, a national PR campaign and guaranteed radio airplay across all participating stations nationwide.

Even if Radio Nova's Local Hero does not progress to the Grand Finale, they will still be eligible for the Wildcard Award. Determined entirely by public vote, the award includes an additional €2,500 bursary, offering another significant boost for an emerging artist's career.
