Noel Gallagher and Gibson have joined forces once again, as they launched a new limited edition Les Paul Standard guitar.
This latest collaboration will see the pair celebrate Oasis' huge reunion tour with a new custom model, designed by Gallagher “to capture the sound, vibe, and aesthetics of the ’90s while bringing everything full circle for today’s audiences”, according to an official description.
This custom model will be more widely available to fans, after its first run was limited to just 25 models in a collector's package.
This deal is to mark “a new chapter in the iconic partnership” between Gibson and Gallagher, with the guitar being available for a limited time only. Fans will be able to buy it via authorised dealers, including Gibson Garage locations in London and Nashville, as well as Gibson's official website.
This latest model boasts a non-weight relieved mahogany body, featuring a maple cap and mahogany neck with Gallagher's preferred SlimTaper profile. The classic look is completed rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and acrylic trapezoid inlays.
It also includes an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminium Stop Bar tailpiece for precise intonation and sustain, featuring smooth-turning, Rotomatic turners with kidney buttons, along with a chrome switch washer and output jack plate.
As is the case with many Les Paul Custom Models, the guitar's pickguard is a black five-ply unit. The electronics have also been described as "equally distinctive", including unique chrome-covered Gibson P-90 Soaphor pickups which are hand-wired to individual volume and tone controls and a three way pick up selector.
Elsewhere, the control knobs are black Top Hats and silver reflectors and dial pointers.
This model will also be signed by Gallagher on the back of the headstock, and will come in a hardshell protective guitar case.
Speaking about this model, Lee Bartram, Head of Commercial and Marketing EMEA at Gibson, said: “This guitar is simply too iconic and cool not to be released more widely and made available for more fans to get their hands on".
He added: “Noel’s original Gibson Custom version of this Les Paul was the first guitar he played during the biggest rock ’n’ roll reunion of the 21st century. This Gibson USA version embraces that legacy, capturing a historic moment in British and global live music".
