Radio NOVA has almost trebled its share of radio listening in Co. Kildare, with the release of the latest JNLR ratings. *

The station has increased its share of radio listening in the county over the last 12 months, bringing it to its highest market share to date in the county. The latest survey covers the 12-month period from July 2013 to June 2014. The station also now has 22,000 listeners in the county, an increase of 16% over the 12 months.

NOVA is licenced to cover North Kildare including Naas, Newsbridge, Celbridge, Kilcock, Leixlip and Maynooth.

“NOVA is the ultimate radio phenomenon. We launched into a crowded market in 2010 and have grown into a major player rapidly and steadily in an extremely competitive environment”, says Nova’s CEO and Programme Director, Kevin Branigan. “Our mix of classic and contemporary guitar music from the last five decades has proven hugely popular and carved out an exciting position for us in the radio landscape”.

Branigan also points to strong performances for each of NOVA’s programmes and growth in key demographics that demonstrate that the station continues to grow its audience in Co. Kildare. “The figures demonstrate not only that more people are listening to us in Co. Kildare, but that they are listening to us for longer each day– a great achievement for us”.

NOVA broadcasts to North Kildare 100.5 FM, as well as Dublin city and county on 100.3 FM. It is the only local radio station apart from KFM that is licensed to broadcast to North Kildare. Since its launch in 2010, the station has been a regular feature throughout North Kildare with its Rattle & Hummer Street Team and has run a number of business seminars throughout the area.

The station launched its new ‘Morning Glory’ breakfast programme, presented by Marty Miller and Joan Lea, last October and revamped its afternoon schedule with a new show presented by Pat Courtenay. It has also recently launched Classic Gold Sunday with six hours of classic rock music on Sunday morning. The station is known for its focus on classic artists as well as modern contemporary guitar acts.

The station offers a diet of guitar-based music from artists like Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, The Police and Simple Minds to The Killers, Kings of Leon, The Foo Fighters and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
