Pink Floyd have announced a new collaboration with Italian football club Inter Milan.
This collaboration has been revealed by Inter, in collaboration with Pink Floyd and Sony Music, celebrating the 50th anniversary of their album, Wish You Were Here. This will include an anthem jacket which will be worn by players ahead of their Serie A match v Cagliari on Friday (April 17).
This merch will also include a t shirt and vinyl, as well as scarves, guitar picks, tote bags, drumsticks and the PFFC Collection, a capsule which is inspired by the football, founded by Pink Floyd.
The album's cover also featured reimagined retro jerseys, which display the 50th anniversary logo of Wish You Were Here.
Incidentally, Pink Floyd often arranged football matches during breaks in their touring schedule in the 1970s, which led to the formation of the band, including David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Richard Wright and Nick Mason, as well as other friends.
Speaking about this collaboration, Catalogue Director of Sony Music Italy, Luca Fantacone said: "Music and football often come together in unexpected ways, and this collaboration between Pink Floyd, Inter Milan, and Sony is a clear example of this".
News of this comes as Pink Floyd announced a new '8 track' compilation album, which will also be released by Sony Music on June 5.
The album includes music from the band's most popular albums between 1971 and 1979. Such tracks include 'Meddle', 'Obscured by Clouds', 'The Dark Side of the Moon','Wish You Were Here', 'Animals' , and 'The Wall'.
