Pink Floyd look set to land their seventh UK Number One with the soundtrack for their film, ‘Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII’.
The live album arrived last Friday (May 2). This new 4K restoration of the famous 1972 film Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII – and its 2025 soundtrack remix by Porcupine Tree’s Steven Wilson, were released on various formats, including 2CD, 2LP and DVD formats.
Two additional tracks were also added to this album, including an extended version of 'A Saucerful Of Secrets', along with an alternate version of ‘Careful With that Axe, Eugene’.
According to the Official Charts company, this soundtrack is standing at No 1 in the midweek charts, and could possibly remain there.
This would mark a seventh number one in the UK Charts for Pink Floyd, having previously achieved the feat with ‘Atom Heart Mother’ (1970), ‘Wish You Were Here’ (1975), ‘The Final Cut’ (1983), ‘The Division Bell’ (1994), ‘Pulse’ (Live) (1995) and ‘The Endless River’ (2014).
