In Britain, Scotland Yard have confirmed that a body found in a woodland in Kent is that of Sarah Everard
A serving member of the Metropolitan Police, is in custody after he was arrested on suspicion of her kidnapping and murder.
Speaking to reporters outside Scotland Yard, assistant commissioner Nick Ephgrave said the body found in woodland in Kent was that of Sarah Everard.
He said: “As you know, on Wednesday evening detectives investigating the disappearance of Sarah Everard discovered a body secreted in woodland.
“The body has now been recovered and formal identification procedure has now been undertaken.
“I can now confirm that it is the body of Sarah Everard.”
Assistant Commissioner Ephgrave added:
”My thoughts and prayers and those of the entire organisation remain with her and with them (Sarah’s Family) at this awful time. Specialist officers remain in cinstant contact with Sarah’s family and will continue to support them throughout the investigation and beyond.”
