A chicken restaurant founded in the deep south of New Orleans, USA, in 1972, is about to open its doors in Dublin next month.

Popeyes has been an iconic pit stop for Americans for over 50 years and has decided to share its signature Louisiana-style hospitality and menu with the Irish public.

Today, it is one of the world’s largest chicken quick service brands, with more than 4,000 restaurants globally.

Ireland’s first Popeye restaurant will open in Blanchardstown Centre Dublin, at 10 am on Saturday, June 6th.

If you are quick, and you will have to be, and make it to the top of the queue on opening day, the first three people at the door will be rewarded with their iconic free Popeye’s chicken sandwiches – for life.

Also, the restaurant is offering its first 100 customers a free Chicken Sandwich, and the first 50 will receive exclusive Popeyes merch.

So, the wait is now over, and chicken fans can count down the days until the opening of the restaurant at The Green Mall in Blanchardstown Shopping Center. The restaurant will also create over 80 new jobs for the area.

And just when we thought the news couldn’t get tastier, Popeyes has today confirmed a second Dublin venue, with a new restaurant in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre opening in the coming weeks.

With demand expected to be high, customers are encouraged to arrive early to avoid missing out.

With so many fast-food restaurants around, New Orleans flavours, Southern hospitality, and new ideas and recipes make Popeye’s stand out in the otherwise crowded fast-food market.

The restaurant promises something called the ‘Shatter Crunch’ chicken, Hot Wings, Tenders, Wraps, Biscuits with Cajun Gravy, and a 100% plant based version too.

CEO of Popeyes’ UK and Ireland, Tom Crowley, said ‘We are so excited to be opening the first Popeyes in Dublin, Ireland next month. There has been such an incredible appetite for bringing the brand to Ireland, and we are pleased to officially announce its opening on June 6th!’
