A rapper from Strabane in County Tyrone has criticised Conor McGregor for using sectarian language in an online exchange.

A one time Alliance Party activist Scott Moore who raps under the name of Scomo, posted videos of a ‘battle rap’ between the unlikely pair.

The now retired UFC champion McGregor, who imagines himself as “the next President of Ireland” told Moore in a typically brusque online video: “You’re a little orange c*** from across the border. F*** off mate, you know what I’m saying.”

The video for which shows McGregor interacting with impunity against Mr. Moore’s protestant background as a form of abuse which was roundly condemned.

The feud begun after Moore branded McGregor “a profoundly stupid person” over his Irish Presidential plans which were revealed this week.

In a deluge of constitutionally impossible plans , the Crumlin man said if “anointed” as President he would ”appoint” a new Taoiseach “with a friendly sparring match in my purpose built, President’s Octagon…if you cannot spar a friendly spar with your President you should not lead the country”.

McGregor’s response to Moore was then to insult him about his mental health condition that causes him to pick at his skin in a rap.

In support of Moore, barrister and podcaster Joe Brolly told his now vast online following that it was “terrible cruelty and bullying of a vulnerable person”, in defense of Scomo.

Brolly’s already said his lawyers are examining social media posts which include ‘incitement to hatred, violence and defamation” in the wake of the horrific Dublin city centre school stabbing in November.

McGregor’s posts about the rioting are being examined by gardaí after the MMA personality called for a “plan of action” from the government over public safety.

His riposte to their apparent inactivity, as he obviously perceived it to be was to say “If they do not act soon to ensure Ireland’s safety, I will.”
