You’ll remember that Brian May, Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert recorded this one in isolation and changed the words to You Are the Champions.

Now they’ve turned it into this brilliant video. All the streaming proceeds go to the World Health Organisation’s Covid-19 fund to support medics all over the world.

The trio recorded the tune last week, Brian on full electric, Roger on full acoustic drums and Adam on vocals with bass guitar coming from Queen’s touring band bass player Neil Fairclough.

It’s personal for Roger Taylor. The drummer’s daughter is a doctor and he was very worried about her not having enough PPE because they were so slow in the UK getting people organized.

Roger was telling Billboard that every day she’s coming into contact with people with COVID-19 in London and that while some of her stories are “scary,” he’s proud of her and he even features her in the video: she’s one of the people holding up a “you are the champions” sign at the end.

“As a father with a daughter in the front line, I am ultra-aware of the vital work they are doing daily to save us and our society”.

Brian says, It seems to me we should dedicate this one to all the front-line soldiers fighting for Humanity against the insurgent coronavirus”.

We suggested last week when the raw audio and video arrived that all 3 memebers weren’t in the same country, that’s been confirmed, it was recorded between Cornwall, London and L.A.
